Retailers Association of India (rai) the unified voice of Indian retailers, works with all the stakeholders for creating the right environment for the growth of the modern retail industry in India.

rai, is the body that encourages, develops, facilitates and supports retailers to become modern and adopt best practices that will delight customers.

rai is the first independent body of retailers in India, rai has a three charter aim of Retail Development, Facilitation and Propagation. The country's key retailers have been spearheading the growth of rai. rai's Governing Board comprises the following people who led the retail revolution in our country Mr.Kishore Biyani of Pantaloons, Mr.B.S.Nagesh of Shoppers's Stop, Mr.Noel Tata of Trent Ltd, Mr.Vinay Nadkarni of Globus, Mr.Ved Prakash Arya of Pantaloons, Mr.Sumantra Banerjee of RPG Retail, Mr.Nandan Piramal of Piramyd, Mr.B.A.Kodandarama Setty of Viveks and Mr.Gibson G.Vedamani, CEO, rai.

 
POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT

The overall aim of the programme is to provide students with a high level of knowledge and understanding of the concepts and processes involved in retailing and to equip them with the necessary practical, research and analytical skills necessary for a professional career in the retail trade or an allied sector. The objective of the Post Graduate Programme in Retail Management are:

  1. To develop knowledge of contemporary retail management issuses at the strategic level.

  2. To describe and analyse the way retailing works, specifically the key activities and relationships.

  3. To provide an academic underpinning to the above through the application of retailing theory and research.

  4. To develop retail specific knowledge resource for adoption by the corporate retail sector.

 
COMMON ADMISSION RETAIL TEST(CART)

Retailers Association of India (rai) is offering this industry-allied 18-month Post-Graduate Programme in Retail Managements (PGPRM) from the academic year 2008 in chosen 15 best in class B-Schools across India. The admission of students of rai's PGPRM will be done through the administration of a Common Admission Retail Test (CART) planned to be conducted on January 27th 2008.
